Ban on work stoppage for PTT employees
PTT management has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against employees who participate in the work stoppage action announced for August 18.

The Post and Telegraph Organization (PTT), one of Turkey's largest courier companies, has sent a controversial directive to its employees.
The directive states that employees are prohibited from participating in the work stoppage action announced for August 18, 2025.
In a letter sent to employees by the PTT Human Resources Department, the calls for a work stoppage announced on union platforms and social media were referenced, and it was stated that under the Public Officials' Unions and Collective Agreement Law No. 4688, public officials do not have the right to strike or stop work.
The letter, which included the statement, “In accordance with the Constitution and relevant legislation, the continuity of public services is essential. For this reason, it is legally impossible for public officials to abandon their duties or stop work,” issued the following warnings to PTT personnel:
- That PTT employees must “absolutely not participate” in the work stoppage action announced for August 18,
- That it is mandatory for all personnel to be at their duty stations to ensure that public services are not disrupted,
- That disciplinary action will be taken against personnel who participate in the work stoppage in accordance with disciplinary provisions,
- That administrators will be on duty to identify employees who participate in the work stoppage.
