Bandwidth throttling on social media lifted
Following the appointment of a trustee to the CHP Istanbul provincial administration and the subsequent protests that began yesterday evening, the bandwidth throttling applied to social media in Turkey has been lifted.

Following the court-ordered removal of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency administration, a delegation led by Gürsel Tekin was appointed as trustees.
Upon the call of the CHP, citizens began gathering at the party's provincial headquarters yesterday evening to protest the situation. Protests continued today as Tekin was expected to arrive at the provincial building.
As the protests began to intensify yesterday evening, bandwidth throttling was applied to social media. Access was restricted on many social media platforms, primarily X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp.
As of this evening, with the protests subsiding, access to social media applications has been restored without the need for a VPN.
It was observed that users in Turkey are no longer reporting access issues.
