The menu for the holiday dinner hosted by President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, who previously drew criticism for his fatwa stating that "God is the one who determines prices" and who frequently calls on citizens to be grateful, lacked nothing.
A special dinner was organized for high-level Diyanet officials on the third day of Eid al-Adha.
The table set for the special dinner held at the Religious Services Attaché building in Mecca featured Uzbek manti, roasted meat (kavurma), stuffed vegetables with olive oil, and roasted eggplant. Additionally, rose water served with fresh rose petals, 11 types of fruit, and pistachio-filled carrot-slice baklava were also on the menu.
At this special event, which was also attended by a member of the Presidential State Supervisory Council, a Diyanet official criticized the gathering, stating, "A sin was committed in Mecca, right next to the Kaaba." It was learned that Erbaş used the phrase "Let us partake in these beautiful blessings" during his speech at the dinner.
