Banu Parlak taken into custody

Beauty center owner and social media influencer Banu Parlak has been taken into custody after an unlicensed firearm was seized at her home.

UNLICENSED FIREARM SEIZED DURING SEARCH

An investigation was launched into Banu Parlak by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to her sharing posts featuring firearms on her social media accounts.

Following the instructions of the investigating prosecutor, police teams conducted a search of Parlak's home, where they seized an unlicensed Glock brand pistol and 9 rounds of ammunition. Parlak was taken into custody and brought to the police station.

PUBLIC SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES INVESTIGATION HAS BEGUN

An unlicensed firearm was seized as a result of the search at the home of Banu Parlak, who was taken into custody.

The Police made the following statement regarding the matter:

''On 22.11.2023, pursuant to the investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, following social media posts featuring firearms by the individual named social media influencer Banu PARLAK, and in accordance with the search warrant obtained from the court upon the instruction of the Public Prosecutor, a search was conducted at her residence located on Yurt Street in the Marmara neighborhood under our jurisdiction.

9 rounds of 9x19mm ammunition

were taken into custody, and the suspect and the unlicensed pistol were transferred to our Public Security Bureau for the continuation of necessary legal proceedings, and the investigation has been initiated with the suspect present.''
