Zafer Boyun, the brother of Barış Boyun, who was sentenced to 12 life sentences in the "Daltonlar" case, has died in the prison where he was being held.
According to a report by journalist Hatice Aksu, it was stated that Zafer Boyun suffered a heart attack in prison this morning and passed away despite medical intervention. It was reported that the necessary procedures have been initiated by the prison administration and judicial authorities following his death.
HE HAD RECEIVED 12 LIFE SENTENCES IN THE CASE
A verdict had been reached regarding Zafer Boyun in the case heard at the Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court, in which 362 defendants were being tried.
The court convicted Boyun of 7 counts of "premeditated murder" and 5 counts of "intentional homicide." It was stated that the sentences amounted to a total of 12 life sentences, 6 of which were aggravated life sentences.
Boyun had also been sentenced to a total of 681 years and 4 months in prison for various other crimes.
