Allegations previously made against journalist Cem Küçük, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of "publicly disseminating misleading information" and "blackmail," have been brought back to the agenda. The incident, which journalist Barış Pehlivan described in an Onlar TV broadcast on May 18, began to be shared again on social media following Cem Küçük's detention.
BARIŞ PEHLİVAN'S CLAIM RESURFACES
In the Onlar TV program aired on May 18, Barış Pehlivan made striking allegations regarding a legal process between Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı and a furniture company.
According to the claim relayed by Pehlivan, it was stated that Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı purchased furniture worth approximately 28 thousand liras in 2016, but when the payment was not made, the company owner resorted to legal action.
"FETÖ" CLAIM ENTERED THE FILE IN THE DEBT CASE
According to the allegation, during the ongoing debt case, Cem Küçük wrote articles claiming that the owner of the furniture company in question had links to FETÖ.
According to Barış Pehlivan's statement, Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı's lawyer submitted these articles to the case file as evidence. Thus, the claim that the furniture company owner was linked to FETÖ was brought to court.
STRIKING EXPRESSIONS IN THE COURT PETITION
According to the information shared by Pehlivan, the following statement was included in the petition submitted to the Bakırköy 2nd Consumer Court on October 5, 2016:
"My client, Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, is a member of the press who supports the Republic of Turkey and our esteemed President."
According to the allegation, the owner of the furniture company, who was demanding payment, was accused of being a FETÖ member in the remainder of the petition. It was claimed that Cem Küçük's column on the subject was added to the case file as the basis for this allegation.
CLAIM THAT "THE ARTICLE WAS SUBMITTED AS EVIDENCE TO THE COURT FILE"
In his statement on the Onlar TV broadcast, Barış Pehlivan claimed that Cem Küçük first wrote articles about the furniture company owner, and then these articles were used as evidence in a case where Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı was a party.
According to Pehlivan's account, these articles in the case file were presented as one of the grounds for the accusations against the furniture company owner.
CEM KÜÇÜK'S STATEMENT ALSO CAME TO THE AGENDA
Within the scope of the allegations that resurfaced in the news, Cem Küçük's live broadcast statements made after Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı's detention were also recalled.
In that broadcast, Küçük stated that his name was used in the process regarding the furniture company, saying, "He also used my name."
