Barış Pehlivan to appear in court tomorrow

The hearing for journalist Barış Pehlivan, who has been held at Maltepe Open Prison for 3 months, will be held tomorrow at the Çağlayan Courthouse.

Journalist Barış Pehlivan, who has entered prison for the 5th time and has been incarcerated for 3 months, will appear before the judge again tomorrow.

Journalist Pehlivan will also attend the hearing with the legal leave he received from the open prison.

PROBATION RIGHTS HAD BEEN REVOKED

Pehlivan's probation rights had been revoked as a result of a lawsuit filed by Court of Cassation member Ömer Faruk Aydıner due to his article titled "A Nauseating Story" published on November 30, 2022.

JUDGE HAD ANNOUNCED HE WITHDREW HIS COMPLAINT

Judge Ömer Faruk Aydıner, who submitted a petition to the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, noted that he had withdrawn his complaint against Barış Pehlivan, who has been in prison for 3 months.

The petition included the statement, "Although I had filed a complaint against Barış Pehlivan, I am withdrawing my complaint."

In the petition submitted by the complainant judge's lawyer, it was stated that the complaint against the defendant was withdrawn, and it was requested that the necessary actions be taken.
