Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk, in an article written after Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel held separate holiday celebration programs, argued that internal party disputes could intensify.
EXPULSION CLAIMS ON THE AGENDA
In his article titled "These developments will mark the coming week; CHP members will say 'oh dear, oh dear' even more!", Öztürk wrote that it is being discussed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will take a series of steps within the party after determining the new MYK today. Listing names close to Kılıçdaroğlu, Öztürk suggested that some individuals associated with various allegations could be referred to the High Disciplinary Board, putting their expulsion from the party on the agenda.
"THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET EVEN MESSIER"
In his article, Öztürk stated that the question of whether CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and his close associates would also be referred to disciplinary proceedings is being discussed behind the scenes, noting that assessments are being made that this possibility could materialize. Arguing that tensions within the party will rise, Öztürk commented that "things are about to get even messier" regarding the process.
The relevant part of Öztürk's article is as follows:
"Kılıçdaroğlu's closest associates include MPs Faik Öztrak, Mahir Polat, Mustafa Adıgüzel, Barış Bektaş, Hasan Öztürkmen, Ali Karaoba, İnan Akgün Alp, and Rahmi Aşkın Türeli. Kılıçdaroğlu will determine the Central Executive Board (MYK) today. It is said that he will then begin his 'moves.' Those whose names are involved in theft or corruption incidents, or those about whom rumors have been spread, 'Crypto FETÖ members,' and individuals considered 'criminal' will be immediately referred to the High Disciplinary Board. The expulsion of those names from the party will come to the agenda.
There are 'agile' names in parties. They act according to the period and the event, and try to stay close to the chairman. It gets to the point where one should not be surprised if even those who are not FETÖ members are branded as FETÖ members. Will the referral of Özgür Özel and his close associates to disciplinary proceedings and their expulsion from the party come to the agenda? The answer to this question was, 'Why wouldn't it? It certainly will.' In other words, things are about to get even messier."
