The investigation conducted by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into 26 defendants, including Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, 13 of whom were in custody, on charges of 'rigging tenders' and 'establishing, belonging to, and assisting an organization for the purpose of committing crimes' has been completed.

It was requested that Köseler be sentenced to a total of 17 years and 6 months to 67 years and 3 months in prison for the crimes of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "rigging tenders in a chain manner through fraudulent behavior," "qualified fraud in a chain manner," and "forgery of official documents in a chain manner."

The 26 defendants appeared before the judge at the Anatolian 17th High Criminal Court on the 3rd day of the hearing.

"I AM UNDERLINING THIS"

Making his defense before the interim decision, Köseler stated, "I am a mayor who has received the votes of people from the far right to the far left of the Beykoz public. This case is not political; I am underlining this. This case has nothing to do with the current government. It has nothing to do with these people either."

Regarding Fidan Gül, Köseler defended himself by saying, "The details she mentioned are tactically correct. I could not make her a deputy mayor of Beykoz Municipality directly; I had to see how she worked, so I gave her a directorship first. I received phone calls from within the party saying 'if she is not made deputy mayor...' I did not do it; I saw how she worked, and then I did it."

The hearing prosecutor requested the continuation of the detention of defendants Alaattin Köseler, Veli Gümüş, Serdar Karahan, Havva Dindar, and Uğur İnci, and requested the arrest of the non-detained defendant Yıldız Güneş.

The Public Prosecutor requested the release of defendants Metin Ülgey, Fidan Gül, Mustafa Karadağ, Onur Demirci, Yusuf Karaaslan, Mahmut Adalı, and Tamer Çapraz, taking into account the time they have spent in detention.

Announcing the interim decision, the court panel decided to release all detained defendants.
