Biden and Sisi reach agreement on humanitarian aid entry to Gaza

US President Joe Biden and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated in a meeting where they discussed the latest situation in Gaza that they have agreed on the temporary entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

According to a written statement from the White House, Biden and Sisi held a phone call to discuss the latest situation regarding a ceasefire in Gaza.

Biden and Sisi evaluated the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the release of hostages, and the latest status regarding reaching a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Both leaders stated that they agree on the need to reach an urgent and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza.

During the meeting, Biden thanked Sisi for committing to the temporary delivery of humanitarian aid provided by the United Nations (UN) to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing through Egypt, noting that this step "will help save many lives."

Biden also emphasized his support for efforts to reopen the Rafah border crossing, which has been closed by Israel.
