Yıldırım visited the family of police officer Serdar Gökbayrak, who was martyred in Istanbul during FETÖ's July 15, 2016, coup attempt, in the Arifiye district to offer his condolences.

Later, attending the "July 15 Commemoration" program organized by the July 15 National Will Association at the Orhangazi Cultural Center, Yıldırım said that 8 years is not a short time, but that night is still as fresh in their memories as if it were today.

Yıldırım noted that on that night, terrorists disguised as soldiers did not hesitate to point the weapons, tanks, rifles, and aircraft entrusted to them by the nation against the people, and recalled the coups and attempts carried out in Turkey.

"IN MY OPINION, IT IS PERHAPS THE SECOND ÇANAKKALE EPIC"

Expressing that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had tasked him with forming the 65th Government, Yıldırım said, "We formed the government, on the 52nd day they said 'welcome,' and we were faced with July 15."

Recalling his first statement that night, Yıldırım said, "That night, the power of the people and the truth defeated the power of the tank. That night, the flag did not fall, and the calls to prayer did not cease. This nation wrote a great epic.

In my opinion, it is perhaps the second Çanakkale epic. These terrorists are not acting on their own.

They have masters, and there are colonialist countries behind them. These countries have had unfinished business for a hundred years in Turkey, Anatolian lands, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Middle East.

Therefore, these agendas will continue to exist from now on, and we must definitely keep this in mind," he said.
