BirGün newspaper executives released following prosecutor's office testimony

birgun.net Publication Coordinators Uğur Koç and Berkant Gültekin, along with birgun.net Managing Editor Yaşar Gökdemir, were detained on the grounds that they reported on the Sabah newspaper's visit to Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. The visit in question had been reported by the Sabah newspaper itself.

Koç, Gültekin, and Gökdemir were accused of "Targeting Individuals Involved in Counter-Terrorism." Following their police statements, our colleagues were referred to the prosecutor's office, where their testimony procedures have now concluded. Our colleagues were released following their statements to the prosecutor.
