Birol Güven appointed as General Director of Cinema

Appointment decisions have been published in the Official Gazette. According to the decision published with the signature of President Erdoğan, Hursit Yıldırım has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Justice, Ahmet Türkoğlu as General Manager and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), Hasan Kaymak as Head of MASAK, Ekrem Candan as General Manager of the National Lottery Administration, and Veysi Kurt as General Manager of TCDD.

Another appointment was made to the General Directorate of Cinema at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Birol Güven, who has served as a screenwriter and producer for many television series and films, has been appointed as the General Director of Cinema at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

WHO IS BİROL GÜVEN?

Güven, a producer, screenwriter, and director, was born on May 1, 1964, in Darıca, Kocaeli. He graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of English Language Teaching. After graduating, Güven worked as a tour guide and teacher for a while. During his time as a tour guide, he had the chance to meet screenwriter and director Yavuz Turgul, through whom he met Gani Müjde and decided to take his life in a completely different direction.

Showing success in screenwriting in a short time, Birol Güven founded a company with Gani Müjde in 1996. Later, Birol Güven changed the company's name with his wife, Burcu Güven, and founded Made in Turkey (MinT).

In 1999, he produced the series "Ayrılsak da Beraberiz," and in 2002, he produced the series "Çocuklar Duymasın." Both of these television series received great interest from the Turkish audience. Following these series, he continued to win the appreciation of the audience with the series "En Son Babalar Duyar." The successful producer, who has since written and directed many other series, continues to work on television and film projects.
