Bodrum's İçmeler and Yaylaçiftliği coastlines are set to host 7 new hotels following a recent decision regarding a plot of treasury land.
According to a report by Fırat Fıstık on SZC TV, the ministry has issued a public notice for the construction of hotels and holiday villages on Bodrum's green spaces. It was also stated that road construction work has begun for the hotels, which will have a capacity of 3,575 beds.
CITIZENS REVOLT
Expressing their reaction to the opening of green spaces for hotel and holiday village construction, one citizen stated, "This is an event carried out under the guise of tourism immunity that will lead to very painful consequences in the future. But they should not forget, there are people living here."
The report, which states that the coastlines and bays are at risk, also highlighted that there are illegal piers and land reclamation projects, and that very little space remains where the public can enter the sea.
The citizen, who mentioned that money is also being charged for the bays by placing sun loungers, complained by saying, "Everyone knows this, can you pay to enter the sea?"
