The body of Prof. Dr. Bekir Karasu, who had not been heard from since leaving his home in Eskişehir, was found with his hands tied with rope in the section of the Porsuk Stream passing through the rural Karacaşehir neighborhood of the Odunpazarı district. Five suspects have been detained in connection with the incident.

Eskişehir Technical University (ESTÜ) Faculty of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Division of Materials Science and Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Bekir Karasu (59) could not be reached by his relatives, who reported the situation, prompting the Provincial Security Directorate teams to launch an investigation.

Determining through City Security Management System (KGYS) cameras that Karasu's vehicle had passed through Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı Boulevard in the Büyükdere neighborhood of the Odunpazarı district, the teams focused their search efforts on the Karacaşehir neighborhood.

Karasu's body, which was found on the 4th day of searches conducted in and around the Porsuk Stream, was sent to the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Health, Application and Research Hospital morgue.

It was learned that 5 suspects have been detained by the police as part of the investigation into the incident.

Prof. Dr. Bekir Karasu's relatives had filed a missing person report after he did not return home following his departure by car on June 27, and search efforts had been initiated on June 28.
