Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan reacts to Meloni's migrant 'thank you': Shame on you

Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan criticized Italian Prime Minister Meloni's expression of gratitude toward AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan regarding migrants in a post on his social media account.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a one-on-one meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the Villa Pamphili residence in Rome, where he had traveled to attend the 4th Turkey-Italy Intergovernmental Summit.

Following the meeting, the two leaders held a press conference. Italian Prime Minister Meloni's expression of gratitude to Erdoğan regarding migrants during the meeting left a mark on the agenda.

Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan shared a video of the moment of thanks from the meeting on his social media account and expressed the following reaction:

"LOOK AT THIS DISGRACE

Italian Prime Minister Meloni says that migrants coming from Turkey have dropped to zero, she expresses her thanks, and our President applauds.

Shame on you; you have turned us into Europe's migrant dumping ground, and you are applauding because you received a thank you for it.

We feed them, raise them, and share our bread with the refugees, and our people remain poor because of this; of course the Italian Prime Minister would say thank you.

As a Turkish nationalist citizen of this country, let alone thanking you, I do not even grant you my forgiveness..."
