AKP continues its preparations for a new omnibus bill that will also include regulations concerning public finance. According to information obtained, the comprehensive proposal is planned to be submitted to Parliament next week.
PREPARATIONS FOR INCREASE IN HOLIDAY BONUSES FOR RETIREES
According to a report by the pro-government Türkiye Gazetesi, the proposal envisions increasing the holiday bonus paid to retirees from 4 thousand liras to 5 thousand liras. It was stated that the impact of the increase, which covers approximately 17.8 million retirees, on the budget will first be analyzed in detail, and the regulation will be submitted to the Speaker of Parliament following these evaluations.
EMPLOYMENT INCENTIVE PACKAGE FOR YOUTH
The proposal is also expected to include new support measures aimed at reducing youth unemployment. Accordingly, provisions to provide wage and premium support for 6 months to employers who hire young people between the ages of 18–25 are on the agenda to be added to the package.
PAYMENT MODEL FOR EARTHQUAKE HOUSING BECOMING CLEARER
It is stated that some technical regulations regarding the delivery process of earthquake and disaster housing to beneficiaries will also be included in the omnibus proposal. Citing previous statements made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the earthquake zone, it was reported that the goal is to provide citizens affected by the earthquake in 11 provinces the opportunity to acquire housing with a down payment of 484 thousand liras. It is planned to spread the payments over a long term and to structure the installments according to payment capacity.
PAID MILITARY SERVICE AND TAX REGULATIONS ALSO IN THE PACKAGE
The omnibus bill is also expected to include some changes regarding the conditions for benefiting from paid military service and payment principles. Under the tax heading, it is stated that ending tax liabilities for certain institutions is on the agenda as part of the policy of abolishing exemptions and exceptions deemed inefficient.
