Breaking news... 2 people were being searched for in the rubble: Tragic news from the collapsed building in Konya!

A 4-story building located on Beyşehir Street in the Selçuk neighborhood of Konya's central Selçuk district has collapsed.

While 3 of the 5 people trapped under the rubble were rescued alive, the lifeless body of one of the 2 people for whom search efforts were ongoing had been recovered. As a result of the efforts, the lifeless body of one more person was pulled from the rubble.

4 PEOPLE HAD BEEN DETAINED

Following the instructions of the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which launched an investigation into the collapsed building, 4 suspects alleged to have responsibility in the incident had been detained.

It was learned that those detained were the owners of the shops located on the ground floor of the building.

It was noted that detailed examination and investigation procedures at the scene are continuing, accompanied by an expert committee and public prosecutors.

Following the incident, which occurred in the evening hours, a judicial investigation was launched by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and one deputy chief public prosecutor and 2 public prosecutors were assigned.

ALLEGATION OF CUT COLUMNS

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya had announced regarding the allegations that the business belonging to a newly opened fish restaurant on the ground floor of the building had cut columns, that there had been no complaints to the Metropolitan or district municipalities to date, but that the prosecutor's team conducting the investigation is looking into every kind of allegation.
