Breaking News: 2 police officers killed responding to a fight report in Çorlu

Two police officers who were wounded in a clash following a report of an armed fight in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, have been martyred.

Police teams responding to a report of an armed fight in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ were fired upon. Two police officers were critically wounded in the ensuing clash, and the assailant was neutralized.

Police teams were dispatched to the area following a report of an armed fight at a business center on Kumyol Street in the Reşadiye neighborhood. Upon arriving at the business center, the plainclothes public security teams were fired upon by the suspect.

As a result of the gunfire, 2 police officers were critically wounded, and numerous reinforcement police and medical teams were directed to the scene.

Police teams called on the suspect to surrender. However, after the suspect continued to fire, they intervened. The assailant was neutralized in the clash.

The wounded police officers and the suspect were taken to Çorlu State Hospital following initial intervention.

The 2 police officers who were critically wounded in the clash have been martyred. Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi published a message of condolence on his social media account.
