Before the PM meeting at 13:00 in the CHP, deputies close to Özgür Özel decided to resign.
28 out of 57 PM members resigned. In accordance with Article 24/3 of the CHP bylaws, both the Party Assembly and the Central Executive Board have officially fallen.
It was stated that if the number of PM members falls below two-thirds of the total membership (40), it is mandatory to hold a convention within 45 days.
Zeynel Emre, spokesperson for the CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel, said in a statement following the decision, "From this point on, it is a crime not to convene the convention. They cannot take any decision other than taking the party to a convention."
The response from Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration, to the extraordinary convention move by the Özgür Özel camp was not delayed.
Speaking to Can Coşkun from Sözcü TV, Sarı responded to the statements made by Zeynel Emre, saying, "As long as the injunction remains in effect, the convention cannot be convened. And by no means whatsoever."
