Three of the four suspects detained as part of the investigation into the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who lost his life after being electrocuted at his home, have been arrested.

The investigation launched into the electrocution of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who lost his life, continues.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for Z.M., who is alleged to have failed to build the energy room in Zeyrek's home at a distance from the pool in accordance with standards; M.Y.P., who is considered to have been involved in the construction of the pool; N.B., who is alleged to have designed and installed the motor, electrical components, and other equipment in the pool's energy room in violation of standards; and H.I., who is alleged in the expert report to have performed incorrect and faulty installation.

Police detained the 4 suspects.

Following their procedures at the police station, the suspects Z.M., N.B., and H.I. were arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace on charges of "causing death by negligence." M.Y.P. was released following procedures at the prosecutor's office.

PRELIMINARY FINDINGS OF THE ADDITIONAL EXPERT REPORT

Investigations are ongoing regarding the removal of the residual current device, which should have been located on the panel in the main building but was missing, in line with the expert report.

Furthermore, the preliminary findings of the additional expert report requested to examine the internal design of the pool motor have been determined.

The preliminary findings stated that there was an installation error in the pool motor, which was dismantled and tested, and that those who performed the installation of the pool pump motor and the pool's electrical wiring were at fault.

It was learned that within the scope of the meticulously conducted investigation, the statements of Ferdi Zeyrek's wife, Nurcan, and daughter, Nehir Zeyrek, as complainants, 20 people as witnesses, and 6 people as suspects have been taken to date.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was electrocuted while trying to check a malfunction in the pool's machine room at his home in the Yunusemre district on the evening of June 6, passed away on June 9 at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, where he had been taken in critical condition.

Yalçın Ö., who was responsible for the maintenance of the pool, and Ahmet S., who was responsible for the maintenance and security of the site and was determined not to have reported the residual current situation, had been detained, and both suspects were released on June 11 under judicial control conditions.
