Breaking News... Ahmet Yener announces voter turnout!

Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chairman Ahmet Yener announced the latest status regarding the March 31 Local Elections.

According to unofficial results, Yener reported that CHP won 35, AKP 24, DEM Party 10, MHP 8, YRP 2, and BBP and IYI Party each won 1 mayoral seat.

Stating that the rate of ballot boxes opened across Turkey is 99.99 percent, Yener said, "The voter turnout is 78.11 percent. According to unofficial results, the turnout for the metropolitan mayoral elections was 78.11 percent."

Yener stated, "The elections were completed without any issues. With the announcement of the final results, the wet-signed minutes will be made available to our citizens on our website."

Yener's statement is as follows:

34 of our political parties participated in the Local Administration General Elections. The elections were held with 61 million 441 thousand 882 registered voters at 207 thousand 848 ballot boxes. According to unofficial results, the rate of ballot boxes opened for metropolitan mayoral elections is 99.99 percent. The turnout for the metropolitan mayoral election was 78.11 percent.

The rate of ballot boxes opened for the mayoral election is 99.95 percent, and the turnout was 78.7 percent. The rate of ballot boxes opened for the municipal council is 99.93 percent, and the turnout was 78.5 percent. The rate of ballot boxes opened for the provincial general assembly election is 99.97 percent, and the turnout was 80.7 percent.

According to unofficial results, in the mayoral elections across Turkey, the Republican People's Party won 35, the Justice and Development Party 24, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party 10, the Nationalist Movement Party 8, the New Welfare Party 2, the Great Unity Party 1, and the Good Party 1 mayoral seat.

In the 30 metropolitan mayoral elections, the Republican People's Party won 14, the Justice and Development Party 12, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party 3, and the New Welfare Party 1 mayoral seat.

In the provincial mayoral elections, consolidation minutes for 44 provincial municipalities have been received as of now. Accordingly, it is seen that the Republican People's Party won 18, the Justice and Development Party 9, the Nationalist Movement Party 8, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party 6, the Great Unity Party 1, the Good Party 1, and the New Welfare Party 1 provincial mayoral seat.

In the 92 district mayoral elections, consolidation minutes for 878 districts have been received as of now. Accordingly, the Justice and Development Party won 324, the Republican People's Party 322, the Nationalist Movement Party 110, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party 54, the New Welfare Party 37, the Good Party 23, the Great Unity Party 12, Independent 9, the Democrat Party 2, the Democracy and Progress Party 1, the Democratic Left Party 1, the Felicity Party 1, the Left Party 1, and the Workers' Party of Turkey 1 district mayoral seat.

Except for some isolated and unfortunate incidents, the elections were conducted and concluded in peace and security."
