The Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention warrant for AKP member Furkan Bölükbaşı due to a post he made regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. As part of the investigation launched into the content shared on social media, Bölükbaşı's statement was taken.
It was reported that the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office was initiated under Article 310 of the Turkish Penal Code, titled "Assassination and Physical Attack on the President."
It was determined that Bölükbaşı had quoted another user's post and subsequently deleted it shortly after.
ARREST DECISION ISSUED
After his statement was taken, Furkan Bölükbaşı was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the duty magistrate judge. Following the arrest decision, Bölükbaşı was sent to prison.
