Reacting to the operations targeting CHP-run municipalities, Özel had stated, "Mr. Akın Gürlek, a municipality is audited by the Court of Accounts. İnan Güney handed over the documents of the previous AKP municipality to the police, despite inflation, like a gift package. The police have them, the prosecutor's office has them. Let's see you show up at the door of Beyoğlu's previous administration tomorrow. I am stating this clearly: if you say 'I am a person of law, I am pursuing corruption, I have integrity and I treat everyone equally,' then let's see you go to the AKP municipalities."
