Breaking News: Arrest warrants requested for 92 people in 2 separate investigations into IMM

Arrest warrants have been requested for 92 people referred to the courthouse as part of investigations launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) over allegations of corruption and terrorism.

Developments continue regarding the 'terrorism' and 'corruption' investigations in which IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is expected to be the CHP's presidential candidate, was detained.

92 people detained within the scope of 2 separate investigations have been referred to the judgeship.

Following the prosecutor's interrogations in Çağlayan, the total number of people for whom arrest warrants were requested has risen to 92.

The following statement was recorded in the announcement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office:

"Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 19/03/2025 into the criminal organization established for profit under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu, out of the 89 suspects detained; 5 suspects were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest on charges of 'establishing and managing a criminal organization', 'taking bribes', 'extortion', 'seizing personal data', and 'rigging tenders', while 84 suspects were referred with a request for arrest on charges of 'being a member of a criminal organization', 'taking bribes', and 'giving bribes'."

Among the names referred to the courthouse with a request for arrest were: Adem Soytekin, Fatih Keleş, Murat Kapki, Özge Bağdatlı, Serhat Kapki, Hakan Karamis, Göksu Bayraktaroğlu, Uğurhan Atma.
