Breaking News... Bahçeli speaks at group meeting: 'It is wrong to evaluate the NATO summit as just a meeting'

Speaking at his party's group meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli commented on the NATO Summit hosted by Turkey, stating, "Ankara, once the headquarters of resistance, is now the place where the global security strategies of the new era are discussed. It is wrong to evaluate the NATO summit as just a meeting. Today's multi-layered security plans have been made. Turkey has become a founding partner of the new era in NATO, not only with its strategic position but also with its state wisdom. This was demonstrated at this Ankara summit." Continuing his speech, Bahçeli touched upon the 10th anniversary of the July 15 Coup Attempt, saying, "It is a serious delusion to think that the FETÖ threat has completely disappeared."

With the new week, work continues in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Political parties will hold their group meetings in the TBMM today.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting in the TBMM.

"My dear fellow travelers; history has certain curtains. It does not just show what happened in the past. It also acts as a striking mirror to the time we live in. It simultaneously hints at the signs of what is not yet visible, the news of the unknown, and the likely directions of the future. There are some assemblies that, even if they appear on the surface to consist only of the formations of heads of state, tie the deep-seated intentions, the characters of nations, hidden power centers, and the yet-unheard footsteps of time into a single space.

Ankara is a symbol of great resistance. Ankara, once the headquarters of resistance, is now the place where the global security strategies of the new era are discussed. It is wrong to evaluate the NATO summit as just a meeting. Today's multi-layered security plans have been made.

"NATO IS AT THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA"

Turkey has become a founding partner of the new era in NATO, not only with its strategic position but also with its state wisdom. This was demonstrated at this Ankara summit. NATO is at the dawn, at the beginning of a new era. In such an age, security will not be measured by budget, but by turning it into capability. Has the alliance realized the age of security? Will it cease to make the defense industry the privileged domain of a few countries?

The Ankara summit has placed these very questions before NATO. Our President's call for the lifting of sanctions is quite important in this respect.

It is not meaningful to see Turkey's success in the field and yet impose sanctions on its defense industry. Every positive step taken on behalf of Turkey is not a favor, but the restoration of justice.

The 'IMECE' (collective effort) title at NATO is very important. It is an indicator of a state wisdom that also considers Turkey's security in space. This is a national technology initiative. We did not reach such massive inventories easily. There is a dream in every truth. There is a dream that grows with patience, and these have turned into steel.

"RE-EVALUATING THE F-35 PROCESS IS IMPORTANT"

Our President's call for the end of defense industry restrictions is one of the main warnings of the Ankara Summit. The emerging will toward lifting CAATSA sanctions and re-evaluating the F-35 process is important. However, the issue we must dwell on is to eliminate the erosion of trust caused in the alliance order by the unfair treatment Turkey has been subjected to for years. Because it is not rational to accept Turkey's sacrifice in the field and yet make its defense capability a subject of political calculations.

IRAN-US WAR

The neutralization of the agreement before even 1 month had passed and the repeated striking of Iranian territory have shaken the will for peace. The Iranian side was attacked and its citizens were killed. These facts must be seen. It is not conscientious to evaluate this as an isolated attack. Trust in peace has been shaken.

No state would consent to or accept being attacked while expecting the agreement it signed to protect it. Iran has the right to protect its security. It is possible to discuss concerns at the negotiating table, but security concerns cannot be made a justification for a larger crisis. An agreement cannot be carried out through personal initiatives."
