Breaking News: Bahçeli's pension ultimatum to Özgür Özel! 'We will not support your motion'

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the current agenda at his party's parliamentary group meeting.

Speaking on developments in Syria, Bahçeli said, "It is the founding leadership of the PKK itself that views the SDF/YPG provocations manifesting in Syria as an attempt to sabotage the February 27 Peace and Democratic Society Process. The SDF/YPG is a terrorist organization; the claim that it represents our Kurdish brothers is a tall tale, a complete fantasy from A to Z."

HE CALLED FOR PENSION INCREASES, THEN TARGETED THE CHP

Bahçeli, who referred to the pension as a "starvation wage" last week, targeted the CHP in the remainder of his speech.

"In my group speech last week, I brought up the issue of moving our brothers and sisters receiving the lowest pension not to a starvation wage, but at least to a level where they can live humanely.

We stand behind my words until the end and we stand with our retirees. Whatever we have said, we do; whatever we have done, we explain and own.

We do not have the capacity to understand or the knowledge of the CHP's internal strife, its cycle of corruption and bribery, the resources flowing into drug and gambling circles, and its problematic politics.

The MHP is a partner in the People's Alliance, but not a partner in the government. As an alliance partner, it is a requirement of our political ethics to support the decisions made by the Presidential Cabinet in good faith for Turkey's development and for the peace and prosperity of our nation, in line with budgetary possibilities.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's assessment regarding retirees, his harping on us, and his attempt at exploitation have once again left him empty-handed.

With the speech he gave in Hatay, he wanted to sow discord within the People's Alliance and set up a trap of discord over our retirees.

He claimed that if we do not support their motion, they will accuse us of not looking out for retirees. I say to this 'fair-weather fox': move on, move on!

Regarding the murder of Atlas Çağlayan in Güngören, Bahçeli stated, "The Ahmet Minguzzi murder has repeated itself. We must do whatever is necessary regarding children who have been involved in or committed crimes."
