New developments are emerging in the bribery investigation conducted into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. As part of the investigation, three more people from the municipality's senior and technical staff have been detained this time.
Among those detained are a deputy secretary general, a branch manager, and a civil servant.
MAYOR BÖCEK HAD BEEN ARRESTED
In the first phase of the investigation process, Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek was arrested and removed from office on charges of bribery and corruption. While Böcek's arrest caused a major stir in public opinion, comprehensive investigations were also launched into certain departments within the municipality.
