The Competition Authority has launched a new investigation into digital content platforms. Within the scope of the investigation, popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Exxen, BluTV, Amazon, and Gain have been placed under scrutiny.
In a statement released by the Authority, it was noted that the platforms in question provide subscription-based video-on-demand services and that there are suspicions of violations of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that the exclusive agreements the platforms have entered into with producers, distributors, and content creators, as well as other anti-competitive practices, will be subject to a detailed examination. It was reported that contracts made with actors, directors, and screenwriters will also be evaluated during this process.
