Following the detention and arrest of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, an investigation has also been launched into the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
Authorization for an investigation has been granted regarding 33 concerts organized by the ABB over allegations that they caused public loss.
The following statement was issued by the ABB:
"As the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, a series of cultural and artistic events organized between 2021 and 2024 had been under review by inspectors for some time. The review conducted by the inspectors regarding service procurements covering 130 concerts has been completed.
As a result of the aforementioned review, no irregularities were detected for 97 concerts, and no investigation authorization was granted regarding these events. However, a decision was made to grant investigation authorization for 33 concerts based on allegations of public loss.
We would like to emphasize that these events were previously examined in detail during routine audits by the Court of Accounts and inspections conducted by the Ministry of Interior, and no negative findings were encountered.
The 9 municipal employees who are the subject of the decision and the investigation will exercise their legal rights and file an objection before the Regional Administrative Court."
