Breaking News... Consecutive operations against the terrorist organization ISIS: 110 people detained in Istanbul

Following the heinous attack by the terrorist organization ISIS in Yalova, which resulted in the martyrdom of 3 police officers, operations against the terrorist organization have gained momentum across the country.

Following an operation in Ankara where 17 people were detained, another operation against the terrorist organization ISIS was carried out in Istanbul.

In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that 110 people were detained.

The full statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:

"Within the scope of the investigation carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, upon the instruction given to the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, aimed at uncovering the members and activities of the DAESH terrorist organization;

(32) suspects identified as operating as teachers/leaders/clerks in an illegal mosque, who were found to be operating in our province in support of the terrorist organization, organizing illegal lessons/conversations, conducting outreach work to gain a base for the terrorist organization within the scope of illegal mosque activities, and for whom information was obtained that the money collected under the names of fitra, zakat, and infaq throughout the mosque was used for the aforementioned terrorist organization, for supporters of the terrorist organization held as so-called prisoners in camps controlled by terrorist organizations against them in Syria, and for the purpose of opening education and madrasas for individuals operating within the mosque, and who were also found to be conducting propaganda activities on social media platforms, and for whom measures under Article 135 (Detection and Recording of Communication) and Article 140 (Monitoring with Technical Means) of the Criminal Procedure Code were applied;

(41) suspects who are connected to the individuals who carried out the heinous attack in our province of Yalova and about whom there is information that they might attempt similar attacks in our province on New Year's Day;

(13) suspects who are in contact with the terrorist organization and against whom there is evidence in this regard;

(14) suspects who made posts in support of the terrorist organization on social media platforms;

(15) suspects, including those identified as Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) who pose a threat to our country and have been identified as having connections to conflict zones, as well as those who have 'relations with terrorist organizations defined by international institutions and organizations' pursuant to subparagraphs (b), (d), and (k) of Article 54 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458, added by Article 36 of Decree-Law No. 676 and enacted by Article 31 of Law No. 7070;

Simultaneous apprehension, detention, search, and seizure operations were carried out as of 01:00 on 30/12/2025 at (114) addresses in our province and (2) other provinces to apprehend a total of (115) suspects, and as a result, (110) suspects were apprehended. Efforts to apprehend the other suspects are ongoing.

During the searches conducted at the residences of the suspects, a large amount of digital material and organizational documents were seized.

Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's fight against all terrorist organizations will continue with determination and resolve.
