Breaking News: Dawn operation in drug investigation! 11 detained, 9 arrest warrants issued

It has been learned that comedian Hasan Can Kaya, singer Yusuf Aktaş—known as Reynmen—and rapper Çakal have been detained as part of a drug investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The operation was reportedly carried out with simultaneous raids in the early morning hours. In the investigation, where 11 people were detained, arrest warrants were issued for 9 individuals who were ordered to be detained but are currently abroad. Among those for whom arrest warrants were issued are Survivor contestant Barış Murat Yağcı, as well as famous YouTuber Enes Batur and streamer Kemal Can Parlak.

Teams from the Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch of the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command pressed the button for a large-scale operation in the early hours of the day.

In the investigation conducted under the instruction of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous dawn raids were carried out on many addresses as part of allegations regarding the use and supply of narcotic substances.

HASAN CAN KAYA AND REYNMEN IN CUSTODY

According to information reported by Sabah newspaper, some names known on social media and in the public eye were also taken under investigation following long-term technical and physical surveillance.

While digital materials and various pieces of evidence were seized at the addresses during the raids, it was learned that comedian Hasan Can Kaya and Yusuf Aktaş, known by the name Reynmen, were among those detained.

RAPPER ÇAKAL ALSO DETAINED

Following Hasan Can and Reynmen, it was learned that popular names such as rapper Emirhan Çakal, Mert Eren Bülbül, Mazlum Aktürk, Sıla Dündar, and Döndü Şahin were also detained.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

An operation was carried out on the morning of Thursday, December 18, as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which covers some names in the television and media sectors. Within the scope of the operation, singer Aleyna Tilki, actress İrem Sak, social media phenomenon Danla Bilic, and Mümine Sena Yıldız were detained. The suspects were released after their procedures at the police station.

It was reported that Melisa Döngel, Yusuf Güney, and Cihan Şensözlü, for whom detention orders were issued, could not be found at their addresses. Arrest warrants were issued for Mert Vidinli, Şeyma Subaşı, and Şevval Şahin, who were determined to be abroad.

Within the scope of the investigation, arrest warrants were also issued for Kasım Garipoğlu and Burak Ateş on charges of "supplying narcotic substances," "facilitating their use," and "use." It was noted that Kasım Garipoğlu is the son of Hayyam Garipoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Garipoğlu Group of Companies, and is also the cousin of Cem Garipoğlu, the defendant in the Münevver Karabulut murder case committed in 2009.

It was recalled that Hayyam Garipoğlu was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison on charges of "harboring a criminal" in the case where his nephew Cem Garipoğlu's father, Nida Garipoğlu, was tried.

It was reported that some names, including former Habertürk TV Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, as well as Ufuk Tetik, Ebru Gülan, Mustafa Manaz, news anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, and former football player Ümit Karan, have been arrested so far as part of the investigation.
