DEM Party MPs Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder made statements before their meeting with President Tayyip Erdoğan. Stating that they would convey the process to the President, Önder said, "Dear friends, together with Chair Pervin, we will present the current state of the process to the President today and inform him. We will share both his views and suggestions regarding what comes next, as well as our own. We believe that both the democratic political sphere and activities related to peace will continue with much more rapid, faster, and qualified steps from now on. I will say this much for now."
'WE HAVE SOME NOTES'
Pervin Buldan, in her assessment before the visit, used the following expressions: "Dear friends, first of all, I would like to thank you for your interest. I would like to state that this is an important meeting. We have held many meetings so far. We have held many meetings with the chairmen of opposition parties, with Mr. Öcalan in İmralı, and also with civil society organizations. Today, we will meet with the President. I want to underline that this is an important meeting. Because perhaps for the first time, the President will exchange views with us on this issue. He will express his views to us on what needs to be done. We will also inform him about all the meetings we have held. May it be auspicious for all of us, may it be auspicious for Turkey. I say once again, may it lead to peace."
HOW DID THE PROCESS BEGIN?
A second resolution process began after MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks from the party podium: 'Let the terrorist leader come out and announce at the DEM Party group podium that the PKK has been disbanded. And let him benefit from the right to hope.' With the new process, a DEM Party delegation held a meeting with PKK leader Öcalan.
Erdoğan's silence at the beginning of the process had drawn attention. However, Erdoğan will meet with the DEM Party delegation during the day.
