The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as part of the new reconciliation process dubbed 'Turkey Without Terror,' has begun its work. The commission will meet for the seventh time today under the chairmanship of TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş.
Prior to the commission meeting, the DEM Party İmralı Delegation departed for İmralı Island to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan. This meeting marks the first such visit to take place since the commission was established.
In a statement released by the DEM Party, it was reported that the delegation includes Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and lawyer Özgür Faik Erol.
