Nasuh Mahruki’s post on the X platform concerning the July 15 coup attempt prompted action from judicial authorities. Following the post in question, an ex officio investigation was launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As part of the investigation process, Nasuh Mahruki was detained yesterday.

After his interrogation by the prosecutor's office was completed, Mahruki was first referred to the court with a request for his arrest in the morning hours, and was subsequently arrested.

ARREST REFERRAL DOCUMENT EMERGES

The document referring Mahruki for arrest has emerged. The document states, “It has been determined that the account from which the post was made belongs to Nasuh Mahruki; that in his statement, Mahruki acknowledged the social media account belongs to him, that he made the post himself, and that he declared he had no intent to commit a crime; that in his post, he described the treacherous July 15 coup attempt—which targeted the Turkish nation and resulted in the martyrdom of our citizens and security forces—as a 'theater'; and that in this form, the tweet exceeded the limits of criticism and was of a nature to cause public outrage.” Mahruki was arrested by the court to which he was brought.
