Chairman of the Board of Education Prof. Dr. Cihad Demirli stated, "All opinions and suggestions submitted regarding the new curriculum draft were carefully evaluated by our Board of Education. A total of 67,284 opinions and suggestions received from education stakeholders during the suspension process of the 'Century of Turkey' Education Model were classified one by one."

Demirli added, "The opinions and suggestions were evaluated in accordance with the principles of transparency, scientific approach, and participation, and were reflected in the teaching programs."

IT HAD CAUSED REACTIONS

The opposition and education unions had reacted to the 'Century of Turkey' Education Model, which has caused controversy under the AKP government.

CHP leader Özgür Özel, in his speech at the Great Education Rally in Saraçhane, Istanbul, reacted to the new curriculum by saying, "Savings can be made from prestige, but not from education."

Özel stated, "In this curriculum, the phrase 'Republic of Turkey' has been replaced with 'Turkey'. A minister who has a problem with the Republic is imposing a curriculum that has a problem with the Republic. This curriculum, which has a problem with Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends, is null and void."
