Breaking News... Erdoğan targets CHP municipalities again: Debts of municipalities that switched to CHP are increasing exponentially

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Ayder Plateau Protection and Renewal Project, the Province-Wide Urban Transformation and Disaster Housing Key Delivery, and the Collective Opening Ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Erdoğan targeted the CHP over the current debate on municipal debts.

Stating that "The municipalities with the highest debt are those that the CHP consistently wins," Erdoğan added, "Moreover, the debt of municipalities that have switched to the CHP is increasing exponentially."

Also targeting the 7th Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Erdoğan said, "Their former chairman had bankrupted the SSK (Social Insurance Institution) during his time as general manager. The mayors are exactly continuing Kılıçdaroğlu's bad legacy."

Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"No one can come between Rize and us. No one can destroy this secret path that goes from heart to heart. In all the elections we have entered, we have found Rize's strong support by our side. They did not withhold their support from our party and our alliance. I thank each and every one of you, all my fellow citizens. Our passion for serving our cities is not seasonal, it is for a lifetime.

As long as God grants us life, we will continue to work for Rize and our other 80 provinces.

In 2021, our Rize was exposed to a flood disaster. We suffered loss of life in the flood disaster that occurred on a holiday. In the most severe flood of recent years, our homes and shops were damaged. We gave our word. We laid our foundations within just a few days. We completed our village houses, shops, tea collection houses, infrastructure, and landscaping.

We have implemented urban transformation projects in many parts of our city. We have completed the construction of 260 residences and 21 shops. In total, we are delivering 368 residences and 31 shops.

"WE SAVED OUR AYDER FROM UGLY CONSTRUCTION"

There is no human-induced pollution anywhere in Ayder. We have also completed the Ayder Protection and Renewal Project. Our indoor parking lot with a capacity of 1,800 vehicles was built underground, decorated with green space on top. Visits are made with a ring vehicle, and it returns to its parking spot. I wish this investment, which we have put into service at a cost of 517 million liras, to be beneficial. We are bringing an investment of 825 million to Rize.

What we have done for Ayder is not limited to these. We saved our Ayder from pollution and ugly construction. In place of the irregular buildings we demolished, we built a thermal hotel and 6 apartment hotels.

We have restored Ayder to its former beauty.

"OUR AGENDA IS SERVICE"

On our agenda is service, works, and investment. We are working. We do not produce empty talk; we produce results. We are running. We are providing service to all of Turkey. We are sweating to create works for humanity.

MUNICIPAL DEBT DEBATE

While we are doing these, what is the opposition doing? Instead of doing work and providing service, they produce excuses. In our group meeting this week, we mentioned our efforts as a government regarding our retirees. We presented them with figures. I reminded the opposition of the promises they made to our nation, especially to our retirees, in the squares but did not keep. I said that paying their debts to the SGK (Social Security Institution) would be more beneficial for our country. Reminding the CHP of their debts disturbed them significantly.

They are doing absurd things to avoid paying their debts. Apparently, the government is trying to stage a financial coup. Apparently, if they pay their debts, CHP municipalities cannot do work. Well, CHP municipalities are not collecting trash anyway. Are you going to collect the trash you don't collect with trucks by hand?

We are not slandering anyone. We are only revealing the facts. The municipalities with the highest debt are those that the CHP consistently wins. Moreover, the debt of municipalities that have switched to the CHP is increasing exponentially. Their former chairman had bankrupted the SSK during his time as general manager. The mayors are exactly continuing Kılıçdaroğlu's bad legacy.

The top 5 municipalities with the highest debt to the SGK are CHP-run. 65.1 billion liras of the total 96 billion lira debt, that is 68 percent, belongs to CHP municipalities and their affiliates.

The Ministry has started to send debt notifications to all municipalities, regardless of political party. Then, what is necessary will be done for the collection of these premium debts.
