Breaking News: Fierce reaction from Özgür Çelik regarding Gaziosmanpaşa! He called the AKP and MHP provincial chairs

The AKP has reclaimed the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality, which it lost in the election, following the arrest of Hakan Bahçetepe. In the acting mayor election held today, AKP's Eray Karadeniz won with 21 votes.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik made a press statement following the change in municipal leadership.

Reminding that 5 mayors are currently in custody due to operations conducted against CHP-run municipalities, Çelik emphasized that a major injustice has taken place.

Çelik stated the following:

“A major injustice has occurred. Three of our mayors from Istanbul and two from Adana, as well as our party assembly member and bureaucrats, were detained. They went through a detention process involving inhumane treatment and were subsequently arrested and sent to prison. Today, acting mayor elections were held in the municipal councils of 3 districts in Istanbul.

In Avcılar and Büyükçekmece, the acting mayor elections are proceeding in unity and solidarity, in accordance with democracy and the national will.

Here in Gaziosmanpaşa, there has been a complete usurpation of the will of the people."

I called the AK Party's Istanbul Provincial Chair yesterday. Afterward, I called the MHP's Istanbul Provincial Chair.
