Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, who was appointed as the Minister of Interior in accordance with the decision published in the Official Gazette overnight, made statements to members of the press.
"WE WILL WORK TIRELESSLY"
Speaking to TRT Haber, Çiftçi said the following regarding his departure from Erzurum:
"I am only leaving here physically. I am leaving my heart with the Dadaşes. I am very saddened. I hope that neither I nor my family will ever forget Erzurum.
There is a sadness that comes with parting, but I am leaving Erzurum with the peace of mind that comes from having done my duty.
With the President's appointment decree today, I have taken on a duty with heavy responsibility. For this reason, I ask for your prayers. May God be our helper. In the Ministry of Interior, just as we improved the security and public order in our province, we will work tirelessly as much as we can to spread this across the entire country."
WHAT HAPPENED?
With the decree published in the Official Gazette, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya was dismissed by the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed to replace Yerlikaya.
