Breaking News: First statement from the CHP delegation that met with Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi!

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir made a statement following the eviction disputes that took place in front of the CHP Headquarters.

Stating that they would meet with Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, Emir noted that they had secured an appointment, saying, "We have received an appointment from the Minister of Interior, and we will go shortly. We are expecting a solution from our Interior Minister, and we will meet for this purpose."

It was learned that CHP Deputy Chairman Suat Özçağdaş would also be present at the meeting.

"THE ONLY WAY IS A CONVENTION"

In his statement, Murat Emir pointed to a convention as the solution to the process, using the following expressions:

"Bring the ballot box; let's hold a convention with whichever delegates you want. While this is our expectation, our friends showed up at the crack of dawn with mafia-like thugs they found somewhere, practically threatening us at our door. Despite this, we, along with our organization and your support, repelled this attempted attack, and we are still in search of a consensus.

We have received an appointment from the Minister of Interior, and we will go shortly. We are expecting a solution from our Interior Minister, and we will meet for this purpose."

FIRST STATEMENT FROM CHP AFTER THE MEETING

CHP's Murat Emir and Suat Özçağdaş made a statement after their meeting with Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi.

Highlights from Emir's speech are as follows:

"We visited the Minister in his office. We thank the Minister. It was a productive meeting. He pointed out two issues. First, that the enforcement request was made to our Headquarters in violation of procedure. Procedural steps must be completed first; if needed, an enforcement officer may come. Our lawyers were not even allowed to examine the file.

Another issue is that we also expressed that we have an application pending with the Court of Cassation."
