In the Kemer district of Antalya, former Mayor Mustafa Gül has been detained on charges of fraud and influence peddling following a criminal complaint filed by a local tradesman. The incident occurred as a result of an investigation launched by the Kemer Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

REPORT AND CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

It was learned that tradesman Mehmet Nezir Aksu filed a complaint after former mayor Mustafa Gül contacted him. Aksu stated that Gül demanded 10 thousand dollars to ensure a favorable report was written by an expert witness in an ongoing case regarding one of his business premises.

10 THOUSAND DOLLAR OFFER TO THE EXPERT WITNESS

According to Aksu, Gül said he would pay 500 dollars to the expert witness out of his own pocket and would demand the remainder in exchange for the report being written. It is alleged that Gül threatened that problems would arise if the payment was not made and that he came to the vicinity of the business to take photographs.

FLAGRANTE DELICTO OPERATION CONDUCTED

In accordance with the prosecutor's instructions, the serial numbers of the money to be handed over by the tradesman Aksu were recorded. During the flagrante delicto operation conducted after the money delivery, the banknotes with the specified serial numbers were found and seized at Gül's address.
