Breaking News: Fugitive FETÖ police chief who stopped MİT trucks captured

A.Z.G., a FETÖ member who served as the Provincial Police Chief in Adana during the time the MİT trucks were intercepted, has been captured at a house where he was hiding in Ankara's Yenimahalle district.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on his social media account that A.Z.G., who was identified as a member of FETÖ and served as the Provincial Police Chief during the period when MİT trucks were intercepted in Adana, has been captured.

It was stated that as a result of an operation coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command's Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Department, A.Z.G. was taken into custody at a house where he was hiding in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara.

HE HAD A FINALIZED PRISON SENTENCE

It was learned that A.Z.G. had a total finalized prison sentence of 8 years and 5 months for the crimes of obtaining secret documents related to state security, obtaining documents related to intelligence activities, unlawfully recording personal data, and unlawfully seizing or disseminating personal data.

Furthermore, A.Z.G., who was dismissed from public service and identified as a user of ByLock, the encrypted communication program used by FETÖ, has been referred to judicial authorities.

In his statement following the operation, Minister Yerlikaya said, "We continue our struggle with determination against those who threaten the unity and solidarity of our nation, the integrity of our state, and the peace and welfare of our citizens." he stated.
