Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that a total of 353 suspects were detained during the "Kıskaç-40" operations conducted against FETÖ.
Minister Yerlikaya stated that the suspects included public personnel and that money was being funneled to the organization through a doner restaurant chain identified as providing financing to FETÖ. It was reported that the doner chain under investigation as part of the operation is Maydonoz Döner.
Galatasaray Sports Club has issued a statement regarding sponsorship allegations following the FETÖ operation conducted against Maydonoz Döner.
The statement from the Yellow-Reds club is as follows:
"Our club and/or its subsidiaries do not have any sponsorship agreement with Somca Gıda Dağıtım ve Pazarlama A.Ş.
Legal action will be initiated against individuals and institutions that attempt to associate our club with this company."
