Breaking News: Gürsel Tekin responds to IMM indictment! 'It has nothing to do with the truth'

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, responded with a stern statement to the allegations regarding the "purchase process of the provincial building" contained in the indictment against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, made a written statement regarding the expressions in the IMM indictment that was submitted to the court yesterday and announced to the public.

Tekin stated that the indictment contains "baseless allegations" regarding the purchase process of the Republican People's Party's Istanbul Provincial Presidency building in Sarıyer, and said that the allegations in question have nothing to do with the truth.

"THE COST OF THE BUILDING WAS SENT FROM THE HEADQUARTERS"

In his statement, Tekin said, "The building in question was purchased by the CHP Headquarters of the period through the direct transfer of 24 million 800 thousand TL via bank channels; the remaining amount was completed with the contributions of our party members and citizens through the 'Put in a Brick Too' campaign initiated under the leadership of the Istanbul Provincial President of the period, Ms. Canan Kaftancıoğlu.”

"Public Announcement

The indictment regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality contains baseless allegations regarding the purchase process of the Republican People's Party's Istanbul Provincial Presidency building in Sarıyer.

The building in question was purchased by the CHP Headquarters of the period through the direct transfer of 24 million 800 thousand TL via bank channels; the remaining amount was completed with the contributions of our party members and citizens through the “Put in a Brick Too” campaign initiated under the leadership of the Istanbul Provincial President of the period, Ms. Canan Kaftancıoğlu.

This building is a symbol of the labor, sweat, and solidarity of CHP members.

The allegations in the indictment have nothing to do with the truth.

The Republican People's Party's Istanbul Provincial Presidency building is as legitimate as mother's milk.

We will not allow a shadow to be cast on the honor and labor of our party."
