WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Uşak Municipality regarding the crimes of "bribery," "extortion," and "rigging a tender," an operation was carried out on March 27, and suspects, including Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, were detained. While 9 people, including Yalım, were arrested, the Ministry of Interior suspended Yalım from his duty. A second wave of operations was later carried out in the investigation, during which many suspects were detained and 16 more people were arrested.
