Breaking News... 'Heroes' operation with 61,500 gendarmes in 28 provinces

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, "The 'Heroes' operation was carried out with 61,500 gendarmes consisting of 4,731 teams in 28 provinces to destroy the caves and shelters prepared by members of the separatist terrorist organization to take refuge in rural areas during the winter months."

OPERATION IN 28 PROVINCES

The operation was conducted in 28 provinces, including Hakkari, Siirt, Şırnak, Van, Bitlis, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Batman, Ağrı, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars, Iğdır, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Ordu, Tokat, Rize, Tunceli, Bingöl, Elazığ, Muş, and Sivas.

ITEMS SEIZED DURING THE OPERATION

In the operation carried out with 61,500 gendarmes consisting of 4,731 teams, shelters prepared by the terrorist organization for use during the winter months were identified and destroyed.

In these operations;

-11 large caves and shelters were destroyed.

-37 kg of EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL (destroyed along with bomb-making mechanisms)

-12 Mines/IEDs (prepared to be placed on roads used by police, gendarmerie, and military personnel)

-27 infantry rifles,

-1 sniper rifle,

-12 pistols,

-17 hunting rifles

-10,135 rounds of ammunition (for various weapons),

-10 hand grenades,

-6 electric detonators,

-171 gas canisters, along with a large quantity of food, living supplies, medical materials, and organizational documents were seized.
