Breaking News: İmamoğlu's diploma deleted from YÖKSİS

The YÖKSİS record of incarcerated Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose university diploma has been revoked, has been deleted.

The diploma records of 28 people, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been incarcerated in Silivri Prison since March 23, have been removed from the YÖKSİS system.

The Istanbul University Board of Directors sent an official letter to all relevant universities for the cancellation of both undergraduate and graduate diplomas:

"Due to the finding that irregular lateral transfers were made to our University's Faculty of Business Administration (English-Turkish) Undergraduate Programs in 1990, pursuant to the provision numbered 3 adopted at the meeting of our University's Board of Directors dated 18.03.2025 and numbered 61; the list of names of the 28 (twenty-eight) individuals whose lateral transfer decisions, and the graduations and diplomas obtained based on these decisions, were decided to be revoked due to 'non-existence' and 'obvious error', and those whose graduate diplomas were revoked in line with the decision taken at the meeting of our University's Institute of Social Sciences dated 24.07.2025 and numbered 28 following the cancellation of the aforementioned undergraduate graduations, has been sent in the attachment, and the graduation statuses of the persons included in the list have been updated in the YÖKSİS database."
