Breaking news: Investigation launched into BTP Chairman Hüseyin Baş!

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been launched into Independent Turkey Party Chairman Hüseyin Baş.

A speech Baş delivered at a party meeting on 22/12/2024 was cited as the reason for the investigation.

The statement issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following remarks:

"Within the scope of the ex officio investigation launched against the individual named Hüseyin Baş, Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party, for the crime of 'Insulting the President' regarding a speech he made at a party meeting on 22/12/2024; following the taking of his statement by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a request for Judicial Control Measures was made to the Duty Magistrate Judge in the form of reporting to designated locations and a travel ban."
