Breaking News... Iranian official speaks: Iran will not produce nuclear weapons, Hormuz will be opened to all ships

US President Donald Trump announced that a new agreement would be signed between the US and Iran today. Trump argued that the agreement in question would prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons and ensure that the Strait of Hormuz is reopened to international maritime traffic.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that Iran "no longer wants nuclear weapons and will not acquire, develop, or possess nuclear weapons by any other means."

REVIEW OF THE AGREEMENT CONTINUES IN IRAN

On the other hand, reports in the Iranian press indicated that technical, political, and legal evaluations regarding the memorandum of understanding on the agenda to be signed with the US are ongoing, and therefore a final decision has not yet been reached.

In a report by Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, citing a source close to the negotiating team, it was stated that the Tehran administration has not reached a definitive conclusion regarding the text of the agreement.

It was stated that the decision will be made within the framework of national interests.

The report stated that reviews regarding the memorandum of understanding are continuing in their technical, political, and legal dimensions.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that Iran will make its decision regarding the agreement based on the protection of national interests, the preservation of red lines, and the provision of necessary guarantees.

An Iranian official speaking to Reuters also stated, "Iran has agreed not to produce nuclear weapons, and the Strait of Hormuz will be opened to all commercial vessels immediately."
