Damascus Radio reported that Syrian air defense systems were activated in response to the Israeli attacks.

In a written statement issued by the Israeli army, it was stated, "A number of mortar shells were identified being fired from Syria into Israel."

The statement noted that some of the shells reached Israeli territory and landed in open areas.

It was also stated that Israeli forces responded to the sources of the fire from Syrian territory with artillery bombardment and mortar fire.
